Background

This Teaching and Learning Initiative has been funded under NTC Grant Number I99-P01, commenced in 1999 and completed in 2002. This initiative is determining the most effective methods for instruction in textile programs. For this purpose, we build on existing pedagogical techniques, especially ones that are not as routinely used in textile education. We explore and develop these techniques in the context of textile education, with its particular requirements. This initiative seeks to enhance preparation of students to be productive and dynamic members of the textile industry by using teaching methodologies that foster workplace skill development.
